Gardaí were alerted when a dislocated elbow was noticed by the child's father.
A 34-year-old man who worked at a Wicklow crèche is due to be sentenced next month for cruelty to a child.
Alejandro Tirado Garcia, from Burnaby Park in Greystones, pleaded guilty to wilfully assaulting and ill-treating a child in his care at the crèche on June 20th last year.
CCTV showed him picking the child up 'roughly', causing a dislocated elbow.
Gardaí were alerted after the child's father noticed they couldn't move their right arm.
Judge Patrick Quinn adjourned the case until November 12th for sentencing, and a victim impact report from the child's parents will be required.
