Vigils and Events Taking Place in County Wicklow

Vigils will be held all over Ireland in the coming days to pay tribute to Ashling Murphy after the horrific events this week. Here are a list of events taking place in county Wicklow. If you are organising an event, email Clare Hogan on morningshow@eastcoast.fm

Arklow: A Vigil will take place at 7pm today (Friday January 14th), in the Parochial Parish Grounds on the upper main street. 

Arklow: a short walk will take place tomorrow morning (Saturday January 15th). Meeting at the tesco car park 9am.

Baltinglass: A community candle lit vigil will be held tomorrow Saturday (January 15th)  in St Joseph's Church yard at 4:30pm followed by a short prayer with Fr Ger. 

Blessington: The Blessington and District Forum has organised a vigil, meeting at The market Square at 3.45pm today (Friday January 14th) onwards and a vigil will be held from 4pm.

Bray: A vigil has been organised at 4pm today (Friday January 14th), outside the Bray Town Council. 
 

Carnew: The Community are holding a vigil for Ashling Murphy tomorrow (Saturday January 15th) at 4pm at Carnew GAA Pitch 

Donard: A vigil will take place at 7pm today (Friday January 14th at the statue in the village 

Dunlavin: Dunlavin and District Forum will host an event today (Friday January 14th) . The gathering will take place at 7.15pm at the Dunlavin Green, a walk will take place around the green and a minute's silence will be held.

Greystones: A vigil will take place at 4pm  today (Friday January 14th) at the Mens Beach

Greystones: On run/walk will take place on Sunday ( January 16th) at 4pm, starting at the park and ride Car park in Greystones

Kiltegan: A remembrance Walk for Ashling takes place on Sunday at 7pm at the Kiltegan Walkway 

Tinahely: A walk will take place on Sunday evening ( January 16th), meeting at The Market Square at 6pm

Wicklow Town:  A vigil has been organised at 6pm today (Friday January 14th). Meeting at The Murrough playground car park and walking to Bachelor's Walk

For all events, people are asked to respect social distancing rules and to bring a candle.
