New COVID laws being introduced in the UK will mean a £5,000 fine for people taking a foreign holiday.
The legislation covering Covid-19 restrictions will impose a ban on leaving the UK without a reasonable excuse.
However the new rules will also mean protests will be considered a permitted exception to the ban on mass gatherings. MPs will vote on the laws on Thursday.
If approved they would come into effect next Monday – the 29th of March.
