Two people were taken to hospital after a freak incident in Arklow yesterday.
A team from Arklow RNLI responded to reports to the incident on the end of town’s South Pier, after two people were injured when they fell 15 feet from the top deck of the Pier to the lower deck, after being struck by a large wave. Two Ambulances and Arklow Fire Service also attended the scene.
After an initial assessment by the RNLI team, the two injured people were handed over to the Ambulance crews and taken to hospital.
