The Department of Rural and Community Development says it understands 7 committees had submitted an email application for Tidy Towns 2019 which it didn't receive.
It says while there's nothing to indicate any fault lies with the Department in this matter, it acknowledges the huge effort that goes into the competition each year by local groups.
This latest announcement for Bray and Greystones means that more funding will be awarded to 32 community groups across County Wicklow for this year’s competition.
