At around twenty past nine, gardai were called to East Road in East Wall, following reports of an altercation.
Two teenage boys were rushed to the Mater Hospital with serious injuries, but one died a short time later.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the East Road, East Wall area between 9 pm and twenty to ten last night to come forward.
