County Council officials are due to publish route details shortly for a new greenway in South Wicklow.
The project would create a shared footpath and cycleway for pedestrians along a 38km route from Shillelagh to Arklow train station.
Councillor John Mullen says there shouldn't be any further delays to reach this stage.
