The technology is being rolled out by the city council over the coming months in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
The city council had announced in July that it was trying out the sensor activated technology on Nassau street as part of it's Covid-19 mobility measures.
The local authority has also reduced waiting times for pedestrians in order to limit the numbers gathering at crossings.
