Fianna Fáil Senator in Wicklow, Pat Casey, has confirmed that two projects in Wicklow have received €76,865 in total funding under the 2023 CLÁR Programme.
The funding has been allocated as part of a further €6.2 million allocation under the programme to 152 projects nationwide.
The new funding will support the renovation of Askanagap Community Hall and the upgrading of lights at Ballymanus Community Field.
Senator Casey said: “The €76,865 announced this morning in funding under the CLÁR programme and the Government’s policy for rural Ireland, Our Rural Future, will make such a big difference in our local communities here in Wicklow.
“€50,000 will go towards the renovation of the community hall at Askanagap and €26,865 will be used to upgrade the lights at Ballymanus Community field. I am delighted that these two projects have received this funding and I know they will be welcomed by everybody in the community.
Investing in Our Rural Future and supporting our rural communities are key priorities of Fianna Fáil in Government. I will continue working to ensure that our rural communities benefit from projects that will make them more vibrant places to live, work and visit.”
