The number of women and families seeking refuge from domestic abuse is increasing.
Saoirse Women's refuge, which has services in Wicklow and Dublin, took in 89 families in 2019 including 172 children.
It had to turn away more than 287 people in 2018 due to the number of victims using its services.
Acting CEO of Saoirse Ellen O’Malley- Dunlop said the figures for this year are worrying and that their services are at full capacity.
