The residential vacancy rate in Wicklow was 3.2%, which was lower than the national average of 4.0%
County Leitrim had the highest number of vacant homes during the fourth quarter of 2022 - at 12.2%.
The North West of the country was worst affected - the findings in Geodirectory's Residential Buildings Report for the fourth quarter of 2022.
Counties Mayo, Roscommon and Donegal all recorded high vacancy rates, at 11.2%, 10.7% and 9.4% respectively.
On the other end of the spectrum, Dublin had the lowest vacancy rate at 1.2%.
That was closely followed by Kildare at 1.3%.
Both counties had the biggest share of active building sites in December.
Nationally, 83,662 residential properties were vacant last month.
872 residential buildings were under construction in Wicklow in December 2022.
In the twelve months to December 2022, 1,427 new residential address points were added to the GeoDirectory database in Wicklow.
