The HSE is reviewing homeless deaths in Dublin last year.
Of these 79 deaths, 8 people died who are sleeping rough, 44 people died in emergency homeless accommodation, and 27 people passed away in long-term supported tenancies with 3 of these deaths resulting from Covid-19.
This report from the Dublin Region Homeless Executive issued to the Dail's Housing Committee shows the number of deaths has increased from 49 in 2019, however, the method of recording the figures changed last year.
The D-R-H-E says it is concerned about the spike of deaths in the latter part of the year, and a review is underway in conjunction with the HSE.
