The mother of a young Wicklow woman who was killed by her former partner following a serious assault gave evidence at his murder trial yesterday, in which she described her efforts to try to save her daughter.
34 year old Daniel Murtagh, of Melrose Grove, Clondalkin in Dublin admits killing Nadine Lott at her Arklow home in December 2019, but has pleaded not guilty to her murder.
Claire Lott said her daughter was lying on her back on the kitchen floor, gasping for air. She said she was doing what she could to save her life, but she didn’t think anything she was doing was really helping.
The jurors heard she had been stabbed and suffered blunt force trauma to the face.
