The cost of attending any of the 11 minor injury units around the country, including Saint Colmchille’s in Loughlinstown is to be reduced.
The Minister for Health Simon Harris has confirmed that the cost will come down from €100 to €75 from next week. The move is aimed at reducing pressure on the country’s accident and emergency Departments.
Minister Harris says as soon as the necessary Statutory instrument, which doesn’t need Dail approval, is signed, he will ask the HSE to introduced the reduced fee with immediate effect
