A Glock 19 pistol and a Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun, and a viable hand grenade were among the firearms located in a safe in the defendant’s bedroom.
A man arrested on Monday following the discovery of guns, ammunition and a replica grenade in Co. Wicklow has been remanded in custody.
He appeared before Bray District Court charged with two counts of possession of a firearm and one count of possession of ammunition.
The man, who is in his 30s, cannot be named for legal reasons. Gardaí were objecting to bail and Judge David Kennedy refused it, citing the seriousness of the alleged offences and public safety concerns.
A reporting restriction remains in place preventing identification of the accused, due to alleged threats against his life.
The man is due to appear before Bray District Court by video link on Monday, May 11.
A woman in her late 20s, who was also arrested earlier this week, has been released without charge. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
