However, there are still hundreds of short-term rentals still available in the city.
Since July last year properties in Rent Pressure Zones, have to register with local authorities to continue operating as short-term lets.
The city council says out of 900 properties it was investigating for breaching legislation almost 70% have now reverted to long-term use.
The Irish Times reports the City Council is continuing to investigate potentially illegal short-term rental use.
