Greystones Municipal District has selected Boston-born Kathleen Kelleher as the 2024 Greystones Person Of The Year for her public and humanitarian work.
Ms Kelleher served as Greystones Town Councillor for 15 years, including five as a Wicklow County Councillor. In addition, she worked with Greystones Cancer Support for 25 years and contributed to Meals On Wheels, the Holyhead Twin Town committee, and many other local initiatives.
"We’re delighted that this remarkable woman has finally gotten the recognition she deserves,” said Danny O’Connor of EBS Greystones, who sponsored the award.
Ms Kelleher said she was left "speechless " upon hearing the news.
She has lived in Greystones since 1973.
