This follows a mechanical issue at Vartry Water Treatment Plant.
Irish Water, working with Dublin City Council, Wicklow County Council and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council, has successfully completed repairs following a mechanical issue at Vartry Water Treatment Plant and water is beginning to return to customers.
Due to the size and scale of the supply network, full supply may not return to all impacted customers until the early hours of tomorrow morning, especially those on higher ground or extremities of the network, as reservoir levels recover and water refills the network.
Customers may also experience some temporary water discolouration following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise.
