A civil rights group is calling for a more robust debate on government plans to extend the country's emergency pandemic laws.
Yesterday, Cabinet approved extending the State's power over people needing to wear face masks and bans on large gatherings until November.
The powers had been due to expire next month, and will now go back to the Oireachtas for confirmation.
The Irish Council for Civil Liberties says a further extension needs to be properly scrutinised:
