The country won't be moving to phase four of the easing of lockdown restrictions as the reproductive rate of the Coronavirus has increased again.
The government has also announced facemasks are to be made mandatory in all shops and gatherings of more than 10 people in a home are banned.
The restrictions stopping pubs, nightclubs and casinos opening will remain in place until August 10th - as will the guidelines on large public gatherings.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin said they were delaying the easing of restrictions on public health advice.
Health Minister Wicklow TD Stephen Donnelly is urging people to continue to stick to the guidelines.
