New data centres owned by big tech companies likes of Google, Amazon and Facebook will need their own emergency power supplies if they're to be allowed access the national grid.The Irish Times reports they'll also have to cut consumption when required, under measures being considered by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities.It's aimed at easing pressure on the country's electricty network, and is set to be unveiled within days.
