New Operator at Wicklow Gaol Brings A Reopening Date Closer

Major refurbishment works at the Wicklow tourist site are nearing completion.

Wicklow Gaol is on track to reopen later this summer.

Councillors have approved a two-year lease for a new operator following a tender process. 

Coredate Limited plans to reopen after refurbishment works are completed and the new displays installed.

The historic attraction closed last September for renovation and a change of management. 

Council officials say the new operator will build a tourism offering with updated visitor experiences and seasonal events.
