Wicklow name unchanged team for Tailteann Cup final against Down

Wicklow manager Oisín McConville has named an unchanged starting fifteen for Saturday's Tailteann Cup final against Down at Croke Park.

McConville has kept faith with the side that produced an impressive 2-26 to 4-15 semi-final victory over Offaly, as the Garden County bid to win the Tailteann Cup for the very first time.

Last line of defense Mark Jackson starts in goal behind a full-back line of Tom Moran, Matt Nolan and Malachy Stone.

Up front, Jonathan Carlin, Pádraig O'Toole, Christopher O'Brien, Oisín McGraynor, Kevin Quinn and Eoin Darcy all retain their places.

Stalwart captain Dean Healy continues his midfield partnership with Jack Kirwan.

Several of Wicklow's key performers from the semi-final will again be central to their hopes of silverware.

Goalkeeper Mark Jackson was outstanding from placed balls, scoring six points, including three two-point frees. Christopher O'Brien also finished with six points, while Oisín McGraynor contributed 1-3 and Eoin Darcy added 1-2 in the victory over Offaly.

The winners of Saturday's final will not only lift the Tailteann Cup but also secure a place in next year's Sam Maguire Championship.

Wicklow's opponents are 2024 champions Down.

The Mourne men were highly impressive in their Ulster Championship victory away to Donegal before overcoming Fermanagh in the Tailteann Cup semi-final.

Throw-in at Croke Park is at 3.30pm.
