There was a strong Garda presence in Wicklow over the weekend as operation Fannacht came back into force, to ensure Dublin residents weren’t breaching the level three guidelines imposed there since last Friday.
Residents in the capital are being urged not to travel outside the county unless for work or essential reasons. Targeted checkpoints were also in place in several locations in Dublin. During checkpoints at the Glendalough- Sally gap area, more than 50 vehicles were asked to return to Dublin and comply with the restrictions. One vehicle was also seized for no insurance and one person was arrested in connection with outstanding bench warrants.
