Rathnew and Blessington to Replay Senior Football Championship
Teams to Replay At 2.30 On Sunday Afternoon After Draw.
A point after 57 minutes of football in Echelon Park in Aughrim proved to be the vital score that sent the Wicklow Senior Football Championship between Rathnew and Blessington to a replay next weekend after both sides finished at 1-9 apiece.
Widespread confusion followed the final whistle with the public announcer informing the crowd of the replay, then, with half the crowd heading for the gates, suggesting that there would be extra-time before finally, and with most people back in their seats, confirming that it was, indeed, going to be a replay.
