Gardaí say the Dullard and Jacob families will be kept updated, and were informed of the search recommencing.
A fresh search of open land is underway near Castleruddery in County Wicklow this afternoon as part of the investigation into the disappearance and murder of Jo Jo Dullard and Deirdre Jacob. It’s the second search at this site, which was also dug up in February this year.
Three tractors and Gardai from the Serious Crime Review Team are on site today with excavation work underway from around 11 o’clock this morning.
Defence Forces helped the Gardai with a technical ground survey of the area last week. Forensic examinations are expected over the coming days.
Gardai say they’re keeping the families of Jo Jo Dullard and Deirdre Jacob updated on the investigation. The women were reported missing in the late 1990s.
Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone with any information in relation to either investigation, no matter how small or insignificant to contact any garda station. To provide information confidentially, contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
