Aoife Flynn Kennedy and Melanie Corrigan will be the party’s candidates.
Fine Gael has begun to select the candidates that will represent the party in next year’s Local Elections in the constituency. The Bray convention was held on the 18th of September in the Martello Hotel.
Sitting councillors on Wicklow County Council; Councillor Aoife Flynn Kennedy, who represents the Bray East electoral area, and Councillor Melanie Corrigan, who represents the Bray West electoral area, will be the party’s candidates.
Both Councillor Flynn Kennedy and Councillor Corrigan were first elected to Wicklow County council in 2019, representing the Bray electoral area. Earlier this Summer, Councillor Flynn Kennedy was elected as Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council.
Councillor Corrigan lives in Enniskerry with her husband and children. As of June 2023, she is also the Cathaoirleach in Bray Municipal District. Councillor Corrigan thanked her family and friends for their continuous support on the night and said she “is looking forward to what lies ahead.”
