New figures show that companies in Wicklow backed by Enterprise Ireland and the IDA created almost 800 jobs over the last two years.Data released by the Department of Enterprise in response to a parliamentary question records that 484 jobs were gained in Enterprise Ireland backed companies in the Garden County in 2020 and 2021.209 jobs were added in 2020 by these companies with an additional 275 roles gained in 2021. The Department of the Enterprise said the 2021 figures reflect employment in clients following a review and revision of the Enterprise Ireland client base in 2021. Enterprise Ireland is a government organisation which helps Irish businesses to export internationally. A total of 36,838 jobs were gained by Enterprise Ireland clients in 2020 and 2021 nationally.
