Irish Music Month is supported by Hot Press, IBI and the BAI Sound & Vision fund.
In total, twenty-five independent radio stations from all over Ireland have signed up for what is the biggest-ever sustained programming initiative undertaken by local stations, since the foundation of independent radio in Ireland, in 1989.

As part of the 'Search for a new local hero' component of the initiative, we have announced Drying Weather as our the East Coast Winner.
Our judges this year included Bray's Ken Doyle from Bagatelle and Arklow's Cathy McGuinness from 'Pillow Queens'.
Drying Weather formed in late 2019
A 4 piece band from Dublin with a Wicklow angle - over the course of the last few years they have been working with Kilcoole native and producer Eoin Whitfield (from EHCO and Enemies) and released a series of singles. Their original, fuzzy acoustic brand of alternative rock layered with vocal harmony and twinkling reverb adds up to a curiously addictive sound.
President Michael D Higgins has extended his good wishes to all those taking part in the initiative.
