A solidarity event is to be held this week, after a church in Dublin 10 faced criticism for flying a pride flag.
Last week, Ballyfermot Assumption Parish shared a picture on social media of the LGBT flag flying outside its church, with a caption saying "all are welcome". The Facebook post received hundreds of comments, with some labelling the move as "anti-Catholic".
The Ballyfermot Anti Racism Network will hold an event on Friday evening which it says will celebrate and support the local LGBT community.
