The Department of Education has granted final approval for refurbishment and extension works to Saint David’s secondary school in Greystones.
Planning Permission was granted by Wicklow County Council in 2016 for the works, which includes a new Sports centre, five new classrooms a new Technology room and a media room.
In January of 2019, former pupil the then Health Minister Simon Harris said that following consultation with the Department of Education, the work would get underway in May of that year, but that failed to materialise.
Today Minister Harris says the department has now given the go ahead and the works should commence soon.
