A Community Hub and Rest Centre have been setup in Aughrim for Wicklow households impacted by flooding caused by Storm Chandra.
The Pavilion in Aughrim is operating as a day hub, with overnight accommodation through the Civil Defence. It has capacity for approximately 60 beds if required. The Community Support Centre is available for those seeking shelter, with tea and coffee, toilet access and phone charging stations.
The Fire Service and Civil Defence have linked in with residents, to inform them of the provisions in place.
Wicklow County Council has stated that all areas within the Arklow, Wicklow, Bray, Greystones and Baltinglass Municipal Districts will be closely monitored.
Localised flooding lead to some road closures. These will be re-opened as appropriate. District outdoor staff continue to respond as flooding issues arise.
