Bus Éireann has confirmed that an incident occurred on the 133 bus service between Wicklow and Dublin last Thursday that saw a spray produced by a passenger and used while on board. The incident occurred just after 2.30pm on the 31st of March, as the bus belonging to Bus Éireann was travelling through Rathnew. The bus had to pull in at the stop beside the site of the old St Ernan’s School after the pepper spray or mace had affected up to a dozen passengers on board. Bus Éireann have since reiterated that they do not "tolerate any act of aggressive or abusive behaviour towards our employees or customers".
