Despite the postponement, planning work will continue, subject to securing the necessary statutory approvals and consents from Wicklow County Council and other stakeholders.
The much-anticipated Under The Giant outdoor concert series in Bray has been postponed until August 2027 due to Garda resource constraints linked to Ireland's EU Presidency commitments.
The inaugural event had been due to take place at the Carlisle Grounds this August, with Craig David's TS5 show announced as one of the headline performances alongside Irish electronic duo 49th & Main, Patrick Nazemi and Bray DJ and broadcaster Fionnuala Moran.
Organisers say the delay is disappointing but have stressed that the project remains firmly on track.
Bad Apple Live founder Zack Dutton said the support received since the event was announced has strengthened confidence in its future.
"The response to Under The Giant has exceeded our expectations," he said.
"The level of support from ticket holders, the local community and stakeholders has shown there is a real appetite for a large-scale outdoor music event in Bray."
Mr Dutton said engagement with the community had been central to the development of the project.
"The conversations we've had with residents, local representatives and businesses have helped shape our plans and reinforced our belief that this can become a flagship event for Bray and Wicklow."
Organisers say thousands of tickets were sold ahead of the original dates, with the vast majority of ticket holders choosing to retain their tickets for the rescheduled concerts in 2027.
Despite the postponement, planning work will continue, subject to securing the necessary statutory approvals and consents from Wicklow County Council and other stakeholders.
The organisers say they remain committed to delivering an event that benefits the town economically, culturally and socially.
"While we are disappointed that we cannot proceed this summer, we are now in a position to move forward with certainty and focus on delivering an exceptional event in 2027," Mr Dutton said.
"Our goal remains the same — to bring world-class artists to Bray while creating something that reflects and celebrates the unique character of the town."
As a thank you to supporters, organisers have introduced a "Founder Status" initiative for existing ticket holders and anyone purchasing tickets before June 12. Benefits include fast-track entry, early access to future ticket sales, discounts on future events and entry into a draw for signed Craig David merchandise.
Tickets remain on sale through the Under The Giant website.
