A Bray woman has been remanded in custody over the seizure of a large quantity of suspected cocaine in crack cocaine form.
Kelly O’Brien (46), of 24 Richmond Hill, Fassaroe, appeared in court in Bray on Thursday, October 19, on multiple charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act, including possession of a controlled drug, namely cocaine, for the purpose of selling or otherwise supplying it to another, and possession of a second controlled drug, Alprazolam, which is commonly found under the brand name Xanax.
The court heard that on October 12, 2023, at 24 Richmond Hill, Fassaroe, Bray, Kelly O’Brien unlawfully impeded a member of An Garda Síochána, having been told of a search under Section 23 of the Misuse of Dugs Acts. She then ran into the house and locked the door.
The court heard that Ms O’Brien, on being informed there was a search warrant for the address, refused to unlock the door, forcing the Garda to enter the address, where an attempt was made to hide a container found to contain a large quantity of suspected cocaine in crack cocaine form, contrary to section 21 (4) and section 27 (as substituted by section 6 Misuse of Drugs Act, 1984) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977.
She has been remanded in custody until November 2.
