Blessington's first ever community park opened today. It features a playground, a walkway to Glending forest as well as tennis courts and a bowling area.
"It'll be a great amenity for activities, for walking, for young people, young mothers with children," said Liam Fay, treasurer of Blessington & District Forum, a local community group.
According to him, it has taken over twenty years of community efforts to create the park.
The forum thanked Cairn Homes and Wicklow County Council for cooperating to deliver the park to the community ahead of Christmas.
