The Textile Banks in Wicklow Town were already full, however members of the community are concerned by the lack of Textile Banks in the town causing illegal dumping to carry-out.
Wicklow Tidy Towns condemned this behaviour calling out illegal dumping in Wicklow Town by social media post that morning:
“What should be a positive addition to the Abbey Street car park for recycling clothes, has become a negative because some people think it is acceptable to DUMP THEIR STUFF ON THE GROUND.
Volunteers from our community are out multiple times each week, every week, for months, working their backsides off to make our town look well and others in our community do this. We are still in judging season for the national competition
And please do not excuse this behaviour by saying the banks should be emptied more often, there is no excuse for this. We are beyond angry and hurt.”
