Twenty-eight motorists have been handed fines totaling more than a quarter of a million euro after failing to turn up to court to face charges for repeatedly dodging M50 tolls.
51 drivers had been summoned to appear before Dublin District Court yesterday.
One driver had gone through the tolls 1,139 times, incurring charges of around €25,000. He had been sent 4,417 reminder notifications, which it’s claimed he had ignored.
