In this episode of Window on Wicklow, Jamie Ryan goes behind the scenes of RTÉ’s DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland, which saw hundreds of volunteers come together to transform the Bray home of 24-year-old Hannah Leonard, who suffered catastrophic brain injuries in a road accident in Sicily in October 2024. Jamie visits the construction site on the first and second-last days of the nine-day build, speaking to volunteers about their experiences, the extraordinary community effort and the emotional story behind the renovation. Hannah’s father, Kevin Leonard, also speaks to Declan Meehan on East Coast FM’s Morning Show about the family's heartbreak, the loss of their son Dylan, and what it means to finally have Hannah home after almost two years of hospital treatment and rehabilitation.
