A dog that was cruelly dumped in a skip in Portlaoise found her furr-ever home with the queen of comedy back in 2019.

Top comedian June Rodgers formed an inseparable double act with her beloved rescue dog Bella, who was found in a skip at the Kyletalesha waste disposal site in Portlaoise.

The terrified dog needed urgent veterinary care when she was found,

Bella was covered in puncture wounds from dog bites and was suffering from mange, an eye infection, fleas and a high temperature.

June has also taken part in campaigns to encourage people to adopt rather than shop for a dog.
