Irish Water is moving forward with works on the Arklow Wastewater Treatment Plant and has submitted an application to the Minister for Housing Planning and Local Government for a foreshore licence to develop the project.
Irish Water says it’s determined to bring to an end the practice of discharging raw sewage directly into the Avoca River, as soon as possible.
