The incident occurred on the outskirts of Wicklow town, near the Blainroe golf club.
A woman in her early sixties has died at a beach in Co Wicklow.
She was pulled from the water at Blainroe Beach, a popular swimming spot along the Wicklow coast, yesterday afternoon.
The alarm was raised at 3.30pm after she was spotted floating in the water. The Coast Guard were contacted and deployed to the scene. Ambulance crew also attended and made efforts to resuscitate the woman.
She was transferred to hospital and later pronounced dead.
