Three show gardens and two Botanical and Floral art entries from the garden county were awarded medals on opening day
Wicklow designers, nurseries and floral artists have won five medals at the first day of Bord Bia’s Bloom.
Wicklow’s gold medal winners were Rúaidhrí Bashford for his Moving Forward – Building My Best Possible Life – design for Cheshire Ireland and Robert Moore for his Dementia: Understand Together Garden' design for the HSE.
Tunde Perry based in Calary picked up a Silver-Gilt medal for the Marie Keating Foundation 'Breath of Life' Garden which tells the story of lung cancer, Ireland’s biggest cancer killer, with 2,600 cases diagnosed each year.
Lynn Stringer was awarded a silver medal for her Botanical entry, while Niamh Harding-Miller, was awarded a bronze medal in the same category.
The overall show garden award went to Dublin-based garden and landscape designer, Alan Rudden, for his Argentinean themed A Matter of Altitude garden.
