A new survey has found Wicklow Town is among the country’s cleanest, and deemed Cleaner than European Norms.
The study from Irish Business Against Litter shows the town is in 7th spot in the ranking of 40 towns and cities nationwide.
Litter levels decreased last year in most areas, leaving fewer blackspots across the country.
2 thirds of the 40 towns and cities surveyed were found to be clean.
Coffee and compostable cups are still among the most common items tossed aside.
Grade A Ratings were awarded to:

- Dunbar Approach
- Glen Beach Cliff Walk/Lime Kiln Bay
- Abbey Street/Main Street
- ‘Bring Bank’ at car park on way into SuperValu car park
- Murrough Playground/Picnic area & Environs
- R999 Approach over Murrough Bridge
- Lidl
- Wicklow Goal
