Wicklow TD John Brady has called on Minister Eamon Ryan to take decisive action to tackle the massive backlog for people waiting to set their driving test.
The Road Safety Authority has confirmed that there are now 1,271 learner drivers waiting for a test in Wicklow, with over 93,000 people waiting across the state.
Deputy Brady says with public transport down to 25% capacity and sharing of lifts now not feasible because of the pandemic, some people in Wicklow will have to wait well into 2021 for a test date, which he says is unacceptable.
