The Wicklow parents of a young boy waiting two years for an urgent hip correction operation, say they feel they have been ignored by the health service.
Four year old Lewis Brown from Kilcoole has Spina Bifida, but his independence and development has been seriously curtailed because of a dislocated hip.
In October 2019 his parents Jennifer and Adam were told he would undergo the surgery shortly, but it never took place.
Late last year they were told Lewis was a first priority and the surgery would happen in January of this year. However Speaking to East Coast FM’s Morning Show, his Mother Jennifer said they are still waiting.
His father Adam said Lewis is still hoping to go to school in September and they have made contact with the Health Minister Wicklow TD Stephen Donnelly who lives in their constituency, but they still haven’t had much success in acquiring a date for this vital operation.
