Schoolkids from a number of national schools around Wicklow have joined a campaign that’s planting more than a million trees in Ireland and Africa.
The schools taking part in the effort include St Patrick's NS and St John's NS, Arklow, St Cronan's, Scoil Chualann and St Fergal's NS, Bray, Wicklow Educate Together, Scoil Naomh Iosaf, Baltinglass, Scoil Naomh Brid, KIltegan, Coolfancy NS, Ballinahinch NS, Roundwood NS and Scoil Mhuire Realt na Mara, Brittas Bay.
Self Help Africa are behind the campaign that will see native Irish seedlings being distributed for planting by each participating class group.
Workshops, collections and other activities are also being held in hundreds of schools to support tree planting activities in Africa.
