Wicklow Man Cycles 247km For Samaritans.

East Coast Samaritans volunteer Paul Sutton will take on a 247km cycle from Samaritans’ Cork branch to his local Arklow branch

East Coast Samaritans volunteer Paul Sutton will take on a 247km cycle from Samaritans’ Cork branch to his local Arklow branch to raise vital funds and awareness for the charity’s essential services.Originally from Greystones but now living in Arklow, Paul was inspired to do the challenge following the success of two sporting challenges (a spinathon and tennis-athon) he undertook to raise funds for Samaritans last July.As Paul reached the end of his 200km spinathon, outside his own Deck Coffee House café in Arklow, one of his supporters on the day joked that “he could have cycled to Cork”.Although made in jest, the remark stuck with Paul. Before long, he had the map out and began planning his next physical challenge - ‘The Big Cycle for Samaritans’ – to raise funds for Samaritans’ Arklow branch and highlight that small individual actions can help achieve big goals.Paul is calling on schools, clubs, businesses, friends, family and community groups to come together to show the power of individual actions to create amazing results by sharing his challenge and getting involved.
