The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring is providing an extra €5 million in additional funding for ten areas that are most advanced in the delivery of the LEADER Programme, which funds local area projects.
Each of the ten counties selected are to receive an extra €500,000 based on an assessment of the level of funding they had approved for projects and the level of funding actually drawn down by the 20th of September 2019 of this year.
Among the ten counties selected for funding, five are in Munster, 2 each are in Connacht and Ulster, while only Offaly in Leinster qualified for the funding.
