Wicklow TD John Brady says the government's sitting ministers in the county are failing to prioritise the upgrade of the N81 in West Wicklow in the latest update to the National Development Plan.
The plan covers infrastructure spend across the country up until 2030.
However the 31km upgrade of the N81 between Tallaght and Hollywood Cross was left out of yesterday's announcement.
A consultation process for the route design started in 2008 with the preferred route option being selected in 2016. However no progress has been made to the project since.
In recent weeks Minister Simon Harris launched a consultation process with the public, seeking their views on the N81.
But speaking to East Coast FM's Morning Show, John Brady said what people want now is action and not another consultation.
